Dear High Heels,

I’m writing to you today in hopes that we can part ways as peacefully as possible. Look, it’s not easy; I never look as good wearing a skirt as I do with you. Not only do you make my legs appear longer, you can transform a boring casual look into a chic work of art.

Also, I love the way you make me walk. I delight in the graceful stride that causes me to sway my hips from side to side. I feel as if I stand up a little taller knowing I look so fabulous. You know you are a looker, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t difficult and painful to be with.

You’ve caused me so much pain. After wearing you for an hour or so, my classy gait turns into a pain-filled limp. Why must you squeeze my toes so tightly? You really need to let up on your grip on me; I know you’re insecure, but your neediness is hurting me. I’m developing bunions and hammer toes, and I don’t want to end up getting surgery due to your unforgiving hold.

Your heels are so high that my feet are pitched forward at an unnatural angle; there’s only so much I can take! You know those bones at the balls of my feet, the metatarsals? You’re putting so much pressure on them that they’re growing inflamed and forming calluses.

My back is killing me. Are you aware that you’re shortening my back and calf muscles? Whatever did I do to you to inflict so much pain on me? Sometimes the achiness is so bad that I have back spasms, and trust me when I say they’re the worst.

Look, I know nobody can see the ingrown toenails you’ve caused me, but I know your little secret. All I have to do is take you off, and everyone will know the truth: you’ve been hurting me for years, and for what? So I can look amazing?

I started looking into other footwear options, into shoes that offer me support and treat me with the respect I deserve. At first, I checked out some traditional athletic shoes. However, after being squeezed into such insanely uncomfortable shoes for so many years, I really wanted to obtain the greatest degree of freedom for my feet, so I decided to try on sandals.

The sandals offered me the freedom I was looking for, but they just weren’t all that supportive. I was starting to feel frustrated, and I even considered slinking back to you, but then I discovered OpeToz®. It was love at first step.

Not only are these open toe athletic shoes comfortable and supportive, they are so stylish that people often compliment me as I go about my day. It didn’t take long for my open toe sneakers to win over my metatarsals, toes, calves and back.

I can spend all day blissfully sporting my open toe walking shoes without feeling a care in the world. Sadly, I can’t say the same about you, which is why I’m leaving you. You may consider this scandalous, but I love my OpeToz so much that I’m buying several pairs. Life is too short to hurt. Bye, Felicia.

Love,

Your Ex
